Buyer Map: FanThreeSixty
Prepared for Greg Moore | FanThreeSixty | October 2026
As of Oct 7, 2026. Counts from published federal statistics on US companies and from the governing bodies' own published figures, dated in the notes at the foot
This page maps the US organizations in the market for fan data and fan engagement software, in the two industries your own menu names, sports organizations and entertainment venues. It splits them into the kinds of buyer your client list already shows, which are teams, speedways, venue operators and presenters, theaters and orchestras, college athletics and the state high school associations. Each group is sized from a public count and lists the roles that usually sign. It says nothing about which of them FanThreeSixty already works with.

Counts the governing bodies publish
Two buyer groups on your client list that a count of companies does not reach.
| Group | Count | What it means for a fan data sale |
|---|---|---|
| College athletics | 1,000+ NCAA member schools | Each department usually picks its own fan tools, and sits inside a university, so it never shows up as a company of its own. |
| State high school associations | 51 associations, 19,943 high schools | One association per state and one for Washington, D.C. Each runs its state's championships for the schools inside it. |
Who signs off
The roles that usually sign for a fan data, CRM or fan engagement platform. Titles vary, and at the smaller organizations one person often holds several of them.
| Group | Roles |
|---|---|
| Sports teams and clubs | Chief revenue officer, VP of ticket sales or ticketing, VP of marketing, director of CRM or fan engagement, head of partnerships; the president or general manager at the smaller clubs |
| Racetracks and speedways | Track president or general manager, VP of ticketing, VP of marketing, director of guest experience |
| Venue operators and presenters | Executive director or president, director of marketing and sales, director of ticketing or patron services, director of development for donors and sponsors |
| Theater companies and orchestras | Managing or executive director, director of marketing, director of audience development or patron services, director of development |
| College athletics departments | Deputy or associate athletics director for external relations or revenue, director of ticket operations, CRM or business analytics lead; the athletics director signs at the smaller programs |
| State high school associations | Executive director, director of communications or marketing, director of championships and events |
What no public count reaches
Three questions this page cannot answer from a count, said in words rather than shown as numbers.
Venues a city or a state university runs itself. Arenas, civic centers and performing arts centers that a city, county or state university runs itself are government bodies, so they are not in a count of companies. Where a private firm manages a public venue, it is counted once as that firm. The rest are found one by one, in the named version.
Which division a school plays in, and how big its athletics budget is. The NCAA figure here is one number across all three divisions, and the split is built school by school in the named version.
Who already runs a fan data platform. No public list says which teams and venues keep their fan data in a platform and which still work from the ticketing system alone, so the rows above count every organization in the group at its size.

Denominators, definitions and sources
- Company counts are employer firms in the federal annual statistics of US businesses, 2022, the newest year published. A firm is every location under one owner. Staff is paid employees across the whole firm in the mid-March 2022 pay period. Organizations with no paid staff and government-run bodies are not counted.
- Industry codes: 711211 sports teams and clubs; 711212 racetracks; 711310 promoters of performing arts, sports and similar events with facilities; 711320 promoters of performing arts, sports and similar events without facilities; 711110 theater companies and dinner theaters; 711130 musical groups and artists.
- College athletics: the NCAA's own published figure of 1,000+ member schools across three divisions, read Oct 7, 2026. State high school associations: the National Federation of State High School Associations' own published figures, 51 member state associations including Washington, D.C., serving 19,943 high schools, read Oct 7, 2026.
- The groups are the two industries your site's menu names, split by the kinds of buyer on your client list. Built from published federal statistics, counts banded deliberately. Figures of 100 and over are rounded to two significant figures, figures from 10 to 99 to the nearest ten.
The named version of this page, the actual organizations inside a row, is built one row at a time. If you want to walk through a row together, pick a time at cal.com/ecg. Prepared by Paul Smaldone, paul@enquirerconsulting.com.
